Summer 2023 schedule is open for registration. Classes begin on the week of June 5, 2023. A group class cost is $540 total per semester for 30 hours of in-class instruction. We offer both online and in-person classes at MEI. All of our group classes are accredited by ACCET and follow the ILR and ACTFL language standards. If you are looking for a customized one-on-one or group language training, we offer private tutoring in all of our Middle Eastern languages and regional dialects. We offer government language training and testing prepartion. For more information on private tutoring, please visit here.
About Center for Education:
For more than 60 years, the Middle East Institute has been offering unique, engaging, and affordable Middle Eastern language instruction in the Washington, D.C. area for students and professionals of all proficiency levels. As a department, we are proud to employ experienced, native-speaking instructors — many of whom also teach at D.C. universities and train employees of federal agencies and international organizations. Evening classes meet twice, weekly in a semi-intensive format for a period of 8 weeks. Private instructors provide more intensive and personalized lessons to meet individual student learning goals.

Location and transportation:
We are located at 1761 N Street NW, Washington, DC 20036 located in the Dupont Circle area, accessible by bus and Metro on the Red Line. If coming by Metro, exit at the south end of Dupont Circle station, walk down 18th Street to our building. Street parking in the neighborhood is metered until 6:30 p.m. EST. For online classes, the instructor will share a Zoom link via email prior to class start time in EST. All classes take place in EST.
