Dr. Arif Rizvi has been engaged in teaching and research for over forty years. He is presently an Associate Professor in the Department of West Asian Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (U.P.), India. Before joining the faculty, he worked on various projects at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi and at the Delhi School of Economics, New Delhi, India <www.amu.ac.in>. His areas of interest include Persian Gulf States, Energy Issues, Arab Foreign Aid to Developing Countries, India-Middle East Relations, and the current Syrian crisis.
