Kevin Cowl

As Vice President for Development, Kevin leads MEI's overall fundraising strategy including corporate and foundation grants, individual and estate gifts, capital campaign, and member growth.  A veteran non-profit leader, Kevin has designed and driven major operational, communications and fundraising initiatives for diverse organizations including AARP Foundation, Institute of International Education, National Community Reinvestment Coalition and the National Iranian American Council. 

As Chief Operating Officer of the National Iranian American Council, Kevin led the organization through a major upgrade of all operational, communications, financial and technical systems.  He secured new foundation grants and increased individual giving, resulting in critical expansions in programs, staff, and membership. As Executive Vice President of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, Kevin led membership, marketing, communications, and training initiatives, as well as regional events and organizing initiatives.  At AARP Foundation, he led strategic communications for the President and Board of Directors and at the Institute of International Education, managed Boren and Fulbright exchange programs for US students and teachers.

A graduate of Syracuse University and the State University of New York at Albany, Kevin also maintains an active career as an artist, exhibiting in Washington, DC and New York City. His work is held in private and institutional collections nationally.
