William Harris

William Harris is a Professor in the Department of Politics at University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. He has also taught at Princeton University, Haigazian University College in Beirut, Middle East Technical University in Ankara, and the University of Exeter. Dr. Harris is the author of several books on Middle Eastern affairs, as well as a wide variety of book chapters and academic articles on both the eastern Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf. His latest book is Lebanon: A History, 600-2011 (Oxford University Press, 2012). His book, The Levant: A Fractured Mosaic (Markus Wiener, Princeton, 2003 and 2005) won an Outstanding Academic Title award from Choice magazine in the US.
