Walid Sellal is the librarian at Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center and the Oman Library at the Middle East Institute. He graduated as valedictorian with a bachelor’s in library and information sciences from the University of Algiers (Algeria), and holds a master’s in information management from Charles de Gaulle University – Lille III (France), where he specialized in library management systems, records management and databases. He is fluent in Arabic and French, and is familiar with the Middle Eastern and North African cultures.
