Dr. Makio Yamada investigates economic diversification in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia’s economic relations with East Asian countries. He is currently a Research Fellow at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies in Saudi Arabia. Previously, he was a Teaching Fellow at the SOAS University of London and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. He received his DPhil in International Relations and MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford (St Antony’s College).
