Hakima Himmich

Pr Hakima Himmich, infectiologist, former chief of the infectious diseases Unit of the University Hospital Ibn Rochd and former teacher at the  Medical School of Casablanca. In 1988 she founded the Association for the Fight Against AIDS (ALCS), the first one in the MENA region, involved in prevention of HIV infection, access to treatment and defense of rights of people living with HIV/AIDS. In this dual capacity, Professor Hakima Himmich has played a pioneering role and leadership both in Morocco and in the MENA region, particularly in access to antiretroviral therapy and in prevention among vulnerable groups. Internationally, she has worked with the Global Fund to Fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) as an expert on the Technical Review Committee and was member of the Strategic and Technical Advisory Committee for HIV/AIDS 's WHO, member of the Administrative Council of the ANRS and president of the International Coalition PLUS.
