Akifumi Ikeda


Professor Akifumi IKEDA is currently Vice-President of Toyo-Eiwa University in Yokohama, Japan. He teaches International Relations and Contemporary Middle Eastern Politics. He has dealt with various conflicts in the region, and has produced a number of books and articles on these subjects. At the same time, he has been involved extensively as an external expert in Japan’s diplomatic ventures in the region such as the Confidence Building Dialogue between Israeli and Palestinian opinion leaders and the Corridor of Peace and Prosperity Project as an advisor to Japan International Cooperation Organization (JICA). He was a Visiting Research Fellow Harry S. Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel in 1984-86, and again in 1995-96.
